It’s going to take more than a bout with cancer to keep the sassy Sharon Jones down, and it’s especially exciting to see her and her fabulous band of New York City R&B pros the Dap Kings back in action. For this show, Jones and Co. will show off songs from the recently released Give the People What They Want. It’s an album that was recorded before Jones took ill, and it’s her fifth album of tough, retro, funky, horn-blasting, and soulful tunes. Keep the Valentine’s Day fires burning for this show on Sat., Feb. 15, at Variety Playhouse, which is sure to be a scorching performances, and a dynamic return to form in every way.
