The Atlanta-based producer/rapper sheds light on lit local offerings

Even a semi-regular Atlanta visitor could recognize the omnipresent drop across the city’s contemporary rap radio stations. It slithers out like a fuzzy snake before melting into gangster oblivion and it belongs to double-threat producer and rapper Sonny Digital. Even though that same unmistakable I.D. has found adoration across the country’s airwaves in the past year — appearing in tracks he’s worked on with non-local artists like Kanye West, Juicy J, and Drake — Sonny never stops repping his hometown. “In Atlanta, it’s a lot,” he says. “A lot of creative people.” We asked the ATL native what he plans to gift his team this holiday season. Below are some of Sonny Digital’s personal favorite ways to boost the A.

??
LRG JOGGER PANTS “That’s one of the companies I’ve been working with for a minute,” he says, nodding to past collaborations. “They’ve been on my side.” LRG offers both men and women’s fashions, but this pair of joggers pairs great with one of Sonny’s other loves: eating a lot of very good food. $59-$76. www.l-r-g.com.

A GIFT CERTIFICATE TO NANCY’S PIZZA “I’m skinny as hell but I’m a food connoisseur,” he says. “Food be kinda crazy.” Among the craziest, Sonny recommends hitting up the Poncey-Highland pizzeria famous for its deep-dish pies. Price varies. www.nancyspizza.com.

LOCAL TRAP STAR LIGHTWEIGHT JACKET The versatile item is unisex and easy to dress up or down. “They’ve got some good quality stuff,” he says. “They’re my friends and I actually wear their clothes, too.” $100. www.localtrapstar.com. C
