Short List: Upcoming

Zoroaster, Taste the World and more

While the city is gearing up for St. Patrick's Day festivities, take a trip from Ireland to Spain with a saucy performance by SOLEDAD BARRIO AND THE NOCHE FLAMENCA DANCE TROUPE. The rhythmic Spanish dance is full of intricate and swirling choreography and set to traditional music for an artistic, not kitschy, performance. $36-$62. 8 p.m. Rialto Center for the Arts, 80 Forsyth St. 404-413-9849. (Tiffany Roman)

It's hard to ignore ZOROASTER. The trio will pull you in one way or another – into its dark, urgent, and mostly unpredictable metal sound with experimental touches like French horn and theremin, or through the live show's hazy maze of fog and lights. The headlining spot at the Earl's eighth annual St. Pat-Prick's Day Bash is the only local show before the guys head to Europe for more touring. And while they claim to be a "bunch of goofballs when we're on the road," you'll seriously feel the music. $7. 9 p.m. 488 Flat Shoals Road. 404-522-3950. (T. LaGon)

An estimated 50,000 refugees from around the world now live in Atlanta, given shelter here from the wars and disasters that forced them from their homes. With food from 25 restaurants, music, art, and an international fashion show, TASTE THE WORLD is a culinary and cultural outreach party; a celebration of the refugee community's contribution to American culture; and a fundraiser for Refugee Family Services, a local nonprofit that helps refugee women and children find work and education. $10-$25. 2-5 p.m. Callanwolde Fine Arts Center, 980 Briarcliff Road. 404-299-6217. (Andisheh Nouraee)

All you dudes basking in Guns N' Roses glory in your socks and boxers should put on some clothes and head over to Smith's Olde Bar tonight for its weekly GUITAR HERO TOURNAMENT. For whatever reason, folks seem to love the game's vertigo-inducing graphics, even if it can cause them to get booed off the virtual stage. Prizes may include a Smith's Olde Bar gift certificate, and bragging rights for sure. $5. 7 p.m. Atlanta Room, 1578 Piedmont Ave. 404-875-1522. (Debbie Michaud)

MARCH 21-22 CHRIS ROCK Brings his No Apologies Tour to the Fox.

MARCH 22 COMEDY HYPNOTIST SHOWCASE Watch people volunteer to make fools of themselves so you can laugh.

MARCH 25-31 JAPANESE FILM FESTIVAL Presented by Georgia Tech and Consulate General of Japan with the theme "Ghosts, Legends, and Technology in Japanese Cinema."
