SEPTEMBER 14 FRIDAY
TIËSTO may be the most loved and loathed man in electronic music. The Amsterdam DJ and producer is widely derided by exploiting all the clichés associated with trance, from constant percussive "buildups" to excessively sentimental keyboard melodies and weepy, yearning guest vocalists. Having said that, a Tiësto live performance is an undeniably epic experience, a spectacle of massive sounds and pulsating lights presented amid a sea of thousands. $45. 10 p.m. North Atlanta Trade Center, 1700 Jeurgens Court, Norcross. 770-279-9899. www.northatlantatradecenter.com. Through Sept. 16. $12. 8 p.m.; Sun., 5 p.m. Beacon Hill Arts Center, 410 W. Trinity Place, Decatur. 404-377-2929. www.contra-tiempo.org. (Laura McMillan)
