Prom’s in August this year. Wordsmiths Books hosts the BLACK AND RED PROM in celebration of Stephenie Meyer’s Breaking Dawn, the fourth book in her critically acclaimed Twilight series. Ghoulish games, fiendish food and daunting (alcohol-free) drinks will be available, as well as a chance at prizes from Wordsmiths and Hot Topic. The Wayne Fishell Experiment will perform live music until the midnight book release. Be sure to show your school spirit and wear your Breaking Dawn High School colors: black and red. Birmingham, Ala.’s resident viola and violin player LADONNA SMITH is a seminal Southerner on the American improv/avant-garde music scene. She returns to Eyedrum to perform with Russian poet Misha Feigin along with a handful of Atlanta improv fixtures, including Roger Ruzow and Robert Cheatham. The show promises to be an exercise in abstract communication as elements of intuitive, lyrical and musical poetry collide.
