They say beauty hurts. But if the beauty will last forever – it’s worth it, right? Tony Olivas and Sacred Heart Tattoo bring back the 14th annual TATTOO ARTS FESTIVAL. Ink at its finest, the fest includes live tattooing, contests, seminars, the newly added bikini contest, and a nightly after party across the street at Mardi Gras. Be sure to make an appointment before you arrive if you plan to add new ink. Through June 6. Free-$40. What better way to celebrate the beginning of summer than with lavish art, live music and great food at the 27th annual VIRGINIA-HIGHLAND SUMMERFEST? Summer kicks off Friday for Va-Hi residents with an outdoor screening of The Tale of Despereaux, a “Movie Madness” parade and dinner. Saturday and Sunday, events are open to the public.
