Somewhere between the Brooklyns of Chim Potok and Spike Lee lies Pete Hamill's brawling, brokenhearted borough of 1947. With the backdrop of Jackie Robinson smashing racial barriers is a young Irish boy who finds the true meaning of courage and salvation through his unlikely friendship with a Rabbi from Prague and the legend of the Golem. Rabbi Phil Kranz, Rabbi Emeritus of Temple Sinai, will introduce the film followed by a Q&A session on the links between Superman, the Golem, and Cleveland, hometown for the Superman creators and Rabbi Kranz.
