MON/FEBRUARY 5
STEREOPHONICS — Another case of “huge in England-unknown in the States” syndrome, the Stereophonics’ last album sold quadruple-platinum across the pond, but barely made a ripple here. Unlike Oasis, whom they vaguely resemble, there are no squabbling brothers and the band seems to be polite on stage. This’ll be a seated acoustic gig, one of only nine they’re doing on a short Stateside club tour to preview tunes from their forthcoming third album. Anglophiles used to seeing these guys in packed arenas will fill the place, so to see what all the excitement’s about, you better get there early. PlanetJam Cotton Club (Horowitz)
