WED/FEBRUARY 7
DIVINITY -- Bassist Divinity, who has toured with Victor Wooten and played with the Roots, performs at this week's "Infinite Possibilities," a birthday celebration for promoter Nico Don. Also on the bill is MC Raggs, who shows Atlanta some female freestyles. Royal Peacock/ 186A Auburn Ave. (Ware)

ESTRO ROCK MUSIC NIGHT -- The Echo Lounge opens early for the Scene And Heard fundraiser, featuring local female favorites including Doria Roberts, Gentle Readers, the Stimulants, Sonia Leigh, STB and Lift. The evening is curated by Mayzee Day and Mandy Van Deven. Echo Lounge (Ware)

HOT AUGUST KNIGHTS -- The Hot August crew blows the dust -- and the doors -- off the Neil Diamond songbook with their revved up punk fervor. Also on this bill are the Akashic Drifters. Star Bar (Nicoll)

MARTIN SEXTON -- Folk minstrel Sexton, with his multi-octave voice, combines a folkie's brain with a soulman's heart (and groin) to create airy yet condensed music for pondering, or for having wild sex. Or better still, both. Eddie's Attic (Horowitz)

TRENT SUMMAR AND THE NEW ROW MOB -- A highly regarded young act from Nashville, Trent Summar has made impressive inroads on the Americana radio charts with his current self-titled CD. His twangy sound recalls the best of old-school country, but it comes spiced with a little '70s-era Rolling Stones sass. Smith's Olde Bar (Nicoll)

YOUNG ANTIQUES, TRANCES ARC, BRIGHTER SHADE -- The Young Antiques' mod jalopy drives over to Buckhead and rolls right over the competition in this laughable battle of the bands. Trances Arc represent the instantly forgettable shiny-shirt mixers of the pick-up district who frequent this sort of contest. Brighter Shade (notorious for importing their own obnoxious cheering section to any sort of band-to-band combat) look and sound like Penn and Teller fronting a bad Dayroom cover act. Lapse in judgment on the Young Antiques' part? Perhaps. But hey, slumming can be fun sometimes. CJ's Landing (Nicoll/Smith)
