MON/FEBRUARY 19
EVERLAST, DEXTER FREEBISH -- With his second album of folk-hop, Eat at Whitey's, Everlast lives up to his name. After House of Pain's demise, years of obscurity and a heart attack, he's lasted long enough to get in a public feud with Eminem. If you liked "What It's Like," Everlast gives you more of the same this time out. Opening act Dexter Freebish play your basic building-verse bursting-chorus modern radio pop. Nothing special, but somehow they won the 1999 John Lennon Songwriting Contest. To further blemish the Beatles name they have songs with Fab Four-sounding names like "Tomorrow" and "My Madonna." Earthlink.Live (Center Stage) (Ware)

MISSING JOE -- Missing Joe, a band from Boston whose album Breaking Down the Constellations is currently receiving mild applause from critics up and down the East Coast, releases the album to Georgia this week. The music is imbibed with a rich pop ethic and textured instrumental and vocal riffing, which results in a somewhat intriguing style that, like that of Collective Soul and Live, still manages to remain edible to the masses.
