Every week, it seems, brings another festival-sized showcase of good local music. The second annual OTHER SOUND FESTIVAL is no exception. Organized by independent labels Eskimo Kiss, Goodnight Records, ISP, Numbers Station and Two Sheds Music, it takes place SEPT. 7-9, drawing exposure to such promising bands as Venice Is Sinking, the Orphins, Spectralux (right) and Slushco. A highlight is the reunion of Ultrababyfat, a popular local rock band not only reuniting after a four-year hiatus, but also celebrating its new CD, No Ringo No. See Vibes for story. $8-$15. Thursday: Drunken Unicorn, 736 Ponce de Leon Place. Friday: the Earl, 488 Flat Shoals Road. Saturday: Lenny's Bar, 486 Decatur St. www.theothersound.net.
