Despite the Woodruff Arts Center's regaled history in Atlanta, it's not exactly known as a hotbed of urban culture. FunkJazzKafé founder Jason Orr plans to remix that – for one night only – with ART FUSION 40. The dizzying mashup of global soul music, roaming fire performances, artists bazaar, film and dancing happens simultaneously Sat., OCT. 18, in conjunction with the Woodruff's 40-year-anniversary celebration. Expect an indulgence of sounds ranging from Atlanta's own DJ Kemit to legendary house DJ Lil Louis. The MyTunes Café invites revelers to program the party in the outside plaza with their personal MP3s while V-103's (WVEE-FM) Joyce Littel hosts a $500 poetry slam in the Alliance Theatre. Suggestion: Bring a doggie bag – there might be more soul food than you can consume at once. Free. 10 p.m.-2 a.m. Woodruff Arts Center, 1280 Peachtree St. 404-733-5000. www.woodruffcenter.org.
