See & Do - Special Event: Atlanta Craft Show March 12 2008

Sun., March 16

Say the word “craft” these days and scenesters swilling Pabst and creating memory quilts about the days they lost their virginities may come to mind. But the three-day ATLANTA CRAFT SHOW at the Cobb Galleria through Sun., MARCH 16, kicks it old school with artisans forging baskets, teapots, wooden bowls and other archetypally crafty stuff. Not that the Atlanta Craft Show intends to be left behind; in keeping with the times, this year’s show offers Green Craft with recycled and eco-friendly materials, and Craft 4 Kids featuring nostalgia-inspired toys like handmade marbles and wooden cars. Decatur’s MudFire Pottery will also be on hand for clay-throwing demos throughout the weekend. Free-$18. Fri.-Sat., 10 a.m.-6 p.m.; Sun., 10 a.m.-5 p.m. 2 Galleria Parkway. 800-836-3470. www.craftcouncil.org/atlanta.
