See & Do - Special event: Georgia Renaissance Festival April 19 2010

Sun., April 25

Dream of a simpler time? A time when knights in shining armor saved fair maidens, when mead flowed freely from the tap, when a gigantic turkey leg was a dietary staple? King Henry VIII is back in town with the GEORGIA RENAISSANCE FESTIVAL for its 25th anniversary. The annual event boasts 32 acres of pubs, treasures and demonstrations from an eclectic group of artisans; 10 stages featuring performances ranging from juggling to comedy to jousting; and even a royal petting zoo. This year, the fest introduces a few new treats, including Tartanic, a unique musical and stunt show, as well as an aerial trapeze show and a re-creation of the coronation of King Henry VIII. Did we mention the turkey legs? Through June 6. $6-$19.95. Sat.-Sun., 10:30 a.m.-6 p.m.; May 31, 10:30 a.m.-6 p.m. 6905 Virlyn B. Smith Road, Fairburn. 770-964-8575.
