It's that time of year again! America's favorite pastime finds its way back to Turner Field for the ATLANTA BRAVES' opening night against the Washington Nationals. Proving it ain't all hot dogs, beer and double plays, the Braves have a few tricks up their sleeves to make the first home game of the season a memorable one. First up, Braves Hall of Famer Pete Van Wieren, who recently retired from a 33-year career in the broadcast booth, will be honored in pre-game ceremonies. After the Braves do their thing on the diamond, and after every Friday night home game, fans can stick around to enjoy post-game fireworks. The first 45,000 fans will receive a Braves 2009 magnetic schedule courtesy of Georgia Power. Game on! $6-$80. 7:30 p.m. 755 Hank Aaron Drive. 404-522-7630. www.braves.com.
