See & Do - Sports: Atlanta Thrashers December 10 2008

Wed., Dec. 10

After a short trip on the road, it’s time to head back to Blueland to cheer on the ATLANTA THRASHERS as they host the New York Rangers on Wed., DEC. 10. With a slew of new faces, including head coach John Anderson, and a brand-new alternate uniform – that unfortunately won’t be seen at this game – the Thrashers seem like a whole new team. Die-hard fans are happy to see Ilya Kovalchuck, Vyacheslav Kozlov, Garnet Exelby and other favorites return for another season, but also feel the void left by former Thrasher Marian Hossa, now a Detroit Red Wing, and Bobby Holik, now a New Jersey Devil. That’s why it’s so important that Kovalchuck and shining star Todd White keep setting off the alarms at Philips for every score they make. Game on! $10-$300. 7 p.m. Philips Arena, 1 Philips Drive. 404-878-3000. thrashers.nhl.com.
