Teen Team Opens Exhibit at the High Museum

July 19, 2013
July 18, 2013 - On Thursday night, the High Museum of Art opened its doors to "Intersection X Where Process Meets Innovation," the first exhibition curated by the museum's Teen Team. Throughout the night each teen gave tours of the exhibit, showing guests some of their favorite pieces. The Teen Team, which consists of 14 teenagers representing five Metro Atlanta counties, had about six weeks to design and create an exhibit that featured works from Robert Rauschenberg, Claes Oldenburg, and Andy Warhol. The pieces throughout the exhibit were picked from the High's Stockholm Portfolio. The Teen Team also created an installation piece that consisted of different drawings put in a slide show and projected on a wall. To be a part of the Teen Team, established in 2011, students had to complete an application, write an essay, and have an interest in art and/or museums. Access to the teen exhibition is free (only the teen exhibition) to the public by phone appointment until August 2. Contact Beth Malone at (404) 733-4465.
