Bar Review - The Bar at the Mansion on Peachtree

Upscale elegance in Buckhead’s newest luxury hotel

THE LAP OF LUXURY: The 30-seat bar, located in the new Mansion on Peachtree residential property and hotel, has an elegant aesthetic complemented by a staff well-versed in the white-glove touch. The décor is decidedly upscale with its plush velvet couches, wallpaper emblazoned with silver, deep wood accents and stylish seating nooks made for two. The pianist, however, could stand to update his repertoire as younger clientele might feel out of their element.

CULTURED COCKTAILS: There is no better way to stimulate your appetite than the “Americano,” a mixture of Campari, soda and vermouth, or a “Miss Violette,” gin, lemon and Creme de Violette. If the composed drinks don’t strike your fancy, let the mixologist craft you a “customized cocktail.”

POSH NOSH? Complimentary silver bowls of thick potato chips provide a salty contrast to the heat of the alcohol. But the limited selection of ubiquitous bar snacks — like an Angus burger topped with St. Andre cheese, and fried calamari — seem out of step with the refined vibe the property strives to achieve.
