In the early ’80s, the Blasters scorched the Los Angeles music scene performing alongside punk legends such as Black Flag and X, and touring with punk/psychobilly innovators the Cramps. The original quartet, formed by brothers Dave and Phil Alvin, provided a sensible rock ’n’ roll candor doused with bluesy-rockabilly speed. Since releasing its 2012 album, Fun on Saturday Night (Rip Cat Records), the group has been touring the U.S. in summer and is still promoting its self-described “American†music mantra.
