A 62-year-old man said his live-in girlfriend, age 51, was upset because he wouldn't give her money for drugs. According to the man, she bit his genitals. She also bit his left eye and the top of his head. The woman said the boyfriend kicked her in the mouth and broke her false teeth. The boyfriend received a ticket for simple battery. The girlfriend was charged with battery and taken to jail.
The couple lives on Joyland Street.
At about 9 a.m., an officer responded to a call concerning an intoxicated person trespassing at the Kroger on Ponce de Leon Avenue. The store manager directed the officer to the men's restroom. A man, age 44, was sitting on a toilet. The man had been there for about four hours, said the manager. Store employees repeatedly asked the man to leave, but he refused.
The man "had defecated on himself and all over the bathroom stall," according to the officer's report. The officer tried to get the man to leave, but had no success. An empty bottle of Listerine was in the stall, and the man smelled of mouthwash.
Eventually, two officers dragged the man (who was wearing a black Publix sweatshirt) out of the stall. They took him to Grady Hospital and charged him with public drunkenness and trespassing.
A 34-year-old man was cooking in the kitchen of his apartment on Lucile Avenue. A 46-year-old woman, who also lives in the apartment complex, came into his kitchen and threw some urine on him. The man said the woman has a history of mental illness and is known for throwing urine on people. She was charged with simple battery and taken to jail.
Police observed a 20-year-old man at a parking lot on Fairburn Road. Previously, the man had been arrested in the same spot for trespassing. Police found a plastic sandwich bag filled with suspected marijuana in the man's crotch.
A further search revealed a plastic bag filled with several hits of suspected crack stuffed in the man's buttocks.
The officer noted in his report, "This location is within a posted 'Drug Free Zone' within the city of Atlanta."
An officer was conducting a "park and walk" inside Renaissance Park. The officer noted that he saw a 39-year-old man "squatting next to a bush with his pants down, exposing his private parts." The man was defecating. He was charged with indecency and defecating in public.
Officers were working a vice detail targeting Internet prostitution. An officer contacted a website and spoke with a female on the phone. The woman said she would send two women over, and they would be there in 30 minutes. She said the two women were down for whatever.
When the two women arrived, they began to dance for the two officers. One woman told the first officer to give her $100 so the officer's friend could "bone" her. The other woman said she would have sex with the officer for $225. They were both arrested for prostitution.
An officer was dispatched to an apartment on North Creek Parkway. A 49-year-old woman told him her husband was cheating on her and she was very tired of it. She also was upset about how he treats their children. The woman "sounded very frustrated and also said that this has been going on for a very long time and she does not know how long she can put up with it."
There were no signs of a physical fight at the apartment. No charges were filed.
At an apartment on Delmar Lane, a 28-year-old man said he was sitting on the bed talking with his roommate about helping with the bills and getting a job. Then, he said, the roommate shot him with a 9 mm handgun and fled the apartment. The 28-year-old felt a burn on his abdomen, but said he wasn't struck by the bullet. Officers didn't find any entry holes in the wall or mattress, but located a spent cartridge. The roommate has tattoos all over his neck and arms.
On Bankhead Highway, a 52-year-old man walked out to his gray Lincoln Town Car. He saw a man asleep in the car. He only knew the man's first name. Also, the 52-year-old noticed his car radio had been removed and was now sitting next to the sleeping man. Suddenly, the sleeping man woke up, grabbed the radio and fled.
A 72-year-old woman lives with her son on Eason Street. According to the woman, the son asked her for $5 and she refused. She said he became violent and raised his voice. She said he called her "stupid" and walked toward her in an aggressive manner. He was charged with "use of fighting words" and taken to jail.
A 24-year-old woman on Pryor Road said her brother's girlfriend has been calling her and making threats such as, "I'm going to shoot you, bitch." The girlfriend was described as having gold teeth, acne and a picture of a pit bull tattooed on her left leg.
A male officer was working undercover at McDaniel and Mary streets. He was flagged down by a 21-year-old woman. She approached his car and said, "What's up?" The officer asked if she was dating. "No, I don't get down like that," she said. "Do you need some hard [crack]?" she asked, holding up a plastic bag. No, said the officer. He called for uniformed police to arrest her for drug possession with intent to distribute.
At about 1:50 a.m. at the intersection of Jonesboro Road and Turman Street, an undercover officer was approached by a 23-year-old woman. She walked up to his car and asked if he was dating. The officer said he was. She said he could get head (oral sex) or pussy (straight sex) for $20. She was arrested for prostitution.
