A 29-YEAR-OLD NEW YORK MAN said he's a member of a band that played one night at an East Atlanta music club. The man said he put his bag in the "green room" and left it alone for 10 minutes. When he returned to the green room, the bag was gone. He said the bag contained $3,000 cash, an iPod, his birth certificate and some medication. Some of his books were found in a dumpster near the club on Flat Shoals Avenue.
AT THE ATLANTA CITY JAIL, two men got in a fight over a baloney sandwich. (One man is age 45; the other man is age 52). They both got a ticket for disorderly conduct.
A POLICE OFFICER saw that a man had dumped three trash cans in the middle of Juniper Street. The man also took two small rugs from the porch of a nearby house, and he threw the rugs onto the road. When the man saw the police officer, he tossed a plastic hubcap at the officer's car. The man was impersonating the president, according to the police report. The gray-haired man, age 63, wore khaki pants. He was arrested for disorderly conduct.
AN OFFICER responded to a call about a burning car on Luckie Street. When the officer arrived, a man refused to step away from the burning car. Eventually, more police showed up, and the man walked across the street. Once the fire was out, the parking-lot attendant asked police to remove the man from the lot. The man said he was a cop killer and threatened to kill an officer. The man tried to punch another officer. A police wagon showed up, and the man fell trying to get inside. He hit his head on the wagon's corner. According to the police report, the man started spitting on police officers. Then, he drank some of his own blood from the asphalt and spit his blood onto an officer. The man, age 39, went to jail for disorderly conduct under the influence.
ON OLD HAPEVILLE ROAD, a man said he came home and tried to kiss his common-law wife -- but she pushed him into a wall. The common-law wife says he tried to punch her, after she told him to go away. The man had slight scratches on his neck; the woman had a slight bruise near her armpit. He was arrested for simple assault; she was arrested for simple battery. They continued arguing in front of the police.
A STRIP-CLUB DANCER said she and another dancer left the club with two men and went to a motel to "hook up." Afterward, she and her co-worker called a cab. But, the dancer said, when the cab showed up, the two men started fighting them. One threw coffee on her head; the other man snatched her pink purse. They were gone when police arrived.
AN OFFICER responded to a call about a nude man at a hotel on Andrew Young International Boulevard. When the officer arrived, he spotted a blond man wearing only a dirty sleeveless T-shirt, standing on the corner of the road. The man said he'd taken two tabs of Ecstasy and that caused him to run around naked. A hotel employee said the man asked another worker for some clothes. The man, age 27, went to jail for public indecency.
A 53-YEAR-OLD WOMAN was taking a bath in her home. She said a man came into her house (which was unlocked), and got mad because she didn't want to see him any more. She said he pushed her, and she hit her head on the tub. Then, he pulled out a knife. She said she got him to hand over the knife. Then, she got dressed and drove the man to a bank, where she gave him $200 because he needed money. Then, she dropped him off in the Kirkwood area. The woman called police because she said she was in fear for her safety.
A WOMAN CALLED 911 to report that her friend was raped. When police arrived, they spoke with the woman who said she was raped. She said she went to her friend's house to return a wig. She said she walked into the room that used to be her friend's bedroom, and a man grabbed her and had unprotected sex with her. She said the man told her that she owed him. The police officer asked, "What does that mean?" The woman said this man lent her $10 about a week ago. She also said that during sex, she grabbed the man's winning lottery ticket and held it in her mouth. She said, "If he was going to get something, he was going to have to pay for it."
According to the woman's friend, the woman knew that she didn't live there anymore. She said she saw the woman running toward her new house, not wearing any clothes and crying. She said the woman goes to see this man sometimes.
The man agreed to talk to police. During the investigation, police determined that the woman's story was inconsistent. According to the police report, both parties agreed to have sex, if the man gave the woman his winning lottery ticket. But after sex, the man didn't hand over the lottery ticket, so the woman said she was raped. According to the police report, the man agreed to give her the winning lottery ticket (worth $5), and he was released.
