A staple in East Atlanta Village for 10 years, the Gravity Pub seems like your typical dive bar, but it lacks that "you're not cool enough to be here" hipster vibe. This is a friendly neighborhood joint, kind of like the tattooed version of "Cheers." When it comes to drinks, PBR and Jägermeister rule, but there are some decent draft beers such as Brooklyn Lager and Blue Moon. The bar changed ownership last November and the new management has put some cash into tidying up the space and renovating the basement, which previously served as a game room for the boys (the basement won't reopen for another six months). Another noticeable change is the updated food menu featuring items in tribute to the now defunct Mulligan's Bar. That's right, boys and girls, the "Luther Burger" (a bacon cheeseburger served on a Krispy Kreme doughnut) and the "Hamdog" (a hotdog wrapped in ground beef, deep fried, topped with chili, cheese, grilled onions and served in a hoagie roll) — renamed the "Vandross" and "Mulligan," respectively — have been resurrected! If the artery-clogging food (there are fried Twinkies, too) and the laid-back atmosphere isn't enough of a reason to go, the jukebox has an eclectic range of artists and you can smoke to your lungs' content.
