It's been almost two years since Shabazz Palaces unveiled their enthralling and idiosyncratic full-length debut, Black Up. The Seattle collective - which embraced its anonymity in its earliest days - has come out of the woodwork to reveal more about itself as it has increasingly transformed into a touring group. Reluctant frontman Ishmael Butler and multi-instrumentalist Tendai Maraire, who stand at the helm of their live performances, will pass through Atlanta with fellow Sub Pop labelmates the Helio Sequence this weekend. The group has recently hinted that its follow-up record is under construction. If we're lucky, perhaps it’ll share a new song or two during one of its first shows of 2013.
