The Left Field Experiment: Kutmasta Kurt, Floyd the Locsmif vs. Illastrate, The Morkestra, Divine Interface

When: Thu., June 27, 9 p.m. 2013
Price: $10
KutMasta Kurt might just be one of the best-kept secrets in the grand history of West Coast hip-hop. Although he's worked as a formidable DJ and producer alongside such heavy hitters as the Beastie Boys, Dilated Peoples, Motion Man, Planet Asia, and more, mainstream notoriety has somehow alluded the man. Regardless, his motorik beats and dirty bass rumble ushered in an era of DIY hip-hop. Through it all, it's his work with Kool Keith and his plethora of personalities that truly shines. For this rare Atlanta appearance as part of the monthly Left Field Experiment at 529 on Thurs., June 27, the KutMasta shares the stage with a handful of local disciples including Floyd the Locsmif vs. Illastrate, a King of the Cypher B-Boy Battle, and several DJs including Nervex, Divine Interface, Knumbskull, and the Morkestra.
