Atlanta playwright and Oprah author Pearl Cleage returns to the Alliance Theatre for the world premiere of her latest play, and the title's a mouthful. Directed by Susan Booth and produced in partnership with the Alabama Shakespeare Company, Nacirema takes a light-hearted look at young African-American ladies preparing to make their societal debuts as their grandmothers maneuver behind the scenes. The cast includes Jasmine Guy, as well as Andrea Frye and Trazana Beverley as rival matriarchs.
