In recognition of Major League Baseball's 2012 Civil Rights Game Weekend, the Auburn Avenue Research Library will host The Rise and Fall of Negro League Baseball, a forum on the historical legacy of Negro League Baseball and its impact on contemporary U.S. sports. Panelists: James "Red" Moore (Atlanta Black Crackers); Lawrence "Pop" Williams (Kansas City Monarchs); historian Nasir Muhammad, Black Mecca of the South Tours; Terence Moore (MLB.com columnist); Greg White (historian of Negro League Baseball); & Calvin Alexander Ramsey(author and playwright). Dr. Stephane Dunn, Co-Director of CTEMS (Cinema, Television & Emerging Media Studies) at Morehouse College will moderate.
