A Gesture Towards the Cacophony of John Cage: “The Ten Thousand Things” — Celebrating the 100th birthday of the world’s most influential modern composer, John Cage, “The Ten Thousand Things” is a four-day (Sept. 6-9) mash up of chance music, composition, and dance. Several performers including Bent Frequency, Core Performance Co., Chamber Cartel, and the Atlanta Poets Group offer their takes on Cage’s most experimental, even controversial dispatches form the avant-garde. All of the events participants return to perform multiple pieces at once for a grand and ecstatic finale.
