See & Do - Theater: Cinderella Della Circus April 09 2008

Tues., April 15

The Center for Puppetry Arts takes one of the world’s oldest fairy tales and puts it under the big top Tues., APRIL 15, with CINDERELLA DELLA CIRCUS. Jon Ludwig, the show’s creator, director and all-around ringmaster, reconfigures the classic Cinderella tale for trapeze artists, tightrope walkers and P.T. Barnum as an unusual “fairy godmother.” Ludwig and puppet designer Jason von Hinezmeyer presented some staggeringly beautiful circus puppets in their adults-oriented Halloween show Ghastly Dreadfuls, so the kid-friendly Cinderella Della Circus should be similarly gorgeous. If you don’t have a child, borrow one. Through June 22. $9-$16. Tues.-Fri., 10 and 11:30 a.m.; Sat., 11 a.m., 1 and 3 p.m.; Sun., 1 and 3 p.m. Showtimes change after May 25; see website for details. 1404 Spring St. 404-873-3391. www.puppet.org.
