Theater: Come Fly With Me

Thurs., Sept. 17

For the Alliance Theatre's 41st season opener, legendary choreographer Twyla Tharp makes a posthumous team-up with Old Blue Eyes. Tharp directs and choreographs COME FLY WITH ME, a musicalization of the songs of Frank Sinatra, which uses the chairman of the board's signature tunes to follow four couples as they fall in and out of love at a crowded dance club. Sounding reminiscent of Tharp's Tony-winning Movin' Out, Come Fly With Me features a company of 32 performers, including 14 dancers and an onstage big band, and should be Broadway-bound if it clicks. Through Oct. 11. $25-$60. Tues.-Fri., 8 p.m.; Sat., 2:30 and 8 p.m.; Sun., 2:30 and 7:30 p.m. Woodruff Arts Center, 1280 Peachtree St. 404-733-5000. www.alliancetheatre.org.
