Theater: Invasion: Our Town

Fri., March 2

Having penned last summer's Lawrenceburg, a hilarious mash-up of Star Wars, "The Dukes of Hazzard" and anti-Wal-Mart activism, playwright Travis Sharp takes an irreverent look at another American cultural institution with INVASION: OUR TOWN. The world premiere production on Dad's Garage Theatre's main stage opens Fri., MARCH 2, and parodies and pays homage to Our Town, Thornton Wilder's classic, oft-produced drama about life and death in America's heartland. Every night Invasion: Our Town flips the script by introducing a surprise guest to Grover's Corners, most likely a fictional character or celebrity along the lines of Mr. T or Hall & Oates, whose identity remains hidden from the rest of the cast. Through March 24. $9-$24. Thurs.-Sat., 8 p.m. 280 Elizabeth St. 404-523-3141. www.dadsgarage.com.
