Theater: The History of Rock n' Roll

Mon., May 7

Dad's Garage Theatre's world-premiere play THE HISTORY OF ROCK N' ROLL, is not, as the title suggests, a chronicle of rock's highlights from Bill Haley & the Comets to the Arctic Monkeys. Instead, a cover band called Flyght Rysk cranks some tasty tunes in between personal anecdotes about rock music's meaning and misadventures. Mike Katinsky directs the play, written by guitarist Chris Blair, vocalist Z Gillispie, bassist Mike Schatz and drummer Jen Lowe. On Mon., MAY 7, Dad's Garage adds a special pay-what-you-can performance to the show's run.Through May 26. $15. Fri.-Sat., 8 p.m. Dad's Garage, Top Shelf Theatre, 280 Elizabeth St. 404-523-3141.
