Dad's Garage Theatre flashes back to the rough-and-tumble world of the 1950s roller derby in THE JAMMER, a comedy about romance, Catholicism and tough chicks on skates. The twist? Award-winning playwright Rolin Jones' show does not feature any actual roller skates. Instead of a Starlight Express-esque roller-rink show, expect director Kate Warner and her cast to use more imaginative means to evoke the roller derby. The performance opens Fri., JUNE 8, and includes Randy Havens, Luis Hernandez, Enoch King, Megan Leahy, Tiffany Morgan, Matt Myers, Theroun Patterson, Tim Stoltenberg and Sloane Warren. Through July 14. $9-$24. Thurs.-Sat., and Mon., June 18, 8 p.m. 280 Elizabeth St. 404-523-3141. www.dadsgarage.com.
