GWEN HUGHES, CHIP HOUSTON -- Sultry jazz siren Gwen Hughes will concentrate on material from her Lost and Found album when she brings her mix of bouncy pop and cocktail swing back to the Attic tonight. She'll play only one show at 8 p.m., with mellow-toned Chip Houston as her opening act. Eddie's Attic (Nicoll)

METHOD MAN & REDMAN -- Meth and Redman's big-screen debut How High would have you believe they're the poster boys for pot. (OK, maybe Redman is.) But they're actually one of hip-hop's most inseparable duos. Technically, Method Man is a Wu-Tang while Redman has a Hit Mode Squad affiliation. Yet they do most of their male bonding together -- and beautiful rap albums are the result, as proven with 1999's Blackout, whose single "How High" has been revived for the How High soundtrack. EarthLink Live (Noelzine)

TRANS-SIBERIAN ORCHESTRA -- Savatage and Aerosmith producer Paul O'Neill's yearly holiday "rock symphony" spectacular -- complete with strings, synths, booming choruses and dramatic lighting -- is bombastic, bloated, pompous and in-your-face. In other words, just like the season itself. Entertaining -- but you wouldn't want to see it more than once a year. (Maybe even not that often.) Tabernacle (Horowitz)
