T.I. listening party
December 17, 2012
On December 14, Tree Sound Studios held a private listening party for T.I.'s latest album Trouble Man: Heavy is the Head. Between the free mounds of food and flowing alcohol attendees were given a first listen to the Atlanta rapper’s latest effort. If one thing has become readily apparent over the past few years of rampant media coverage, it’s that T.I. is perpetually going through changes, both positive and negative, and with each variance comes a new album. In introducing his new album, he explained that his previous effort, No Mercy, was crafted as an apology to those who may have been hurt by his run-ins with the law. Despite his best efforts he claims several individuals struck his apology down, claiming that trouble is congruous with his being. In response, he's decided to embody this by channeling his inner "Trouble Man" on what he calls his official "Fuck you" to all detractors. Opening with a sample from the iconic blaxploitation film of the same title, “Trouble Man" chronicles a myriad of problematic circumstances throughout his life. These situations include the death of loved ones all the way to his now infamous run in with the APD in a Walgreens parking lot.
