Singer/songwriter Mackenzie Scott grew up in Macon but drove stakes into the gum-splattered sidewalks of Brooklyn to pour herself completely into music. She works under the moniker Torres, named after her grandfather, crafting efforts that ring both emotionally raw and utterly timeless in authenticity. Her second album, Sprinter, dropped last month, injecting some melancholy melodies into the heavy spring rain.
