LIVING DAYLIGHTS, VINYL — Seattle jazz trio Living Daylights have managed to carve out a similar niche as Medeski, Martin and Wood that places them in high esteem among the jam-band crowd. And like MM&W, their edge and progressivism makes them much cooler than jam-band esteem would suggest. Vinyl offers a funky, Latin-inflected throw down best suited for those who like to move that thang. With chunky, upfront Hammond organ, JBs-style horn section and three-piece drum section, these instrumental funk proprietors leave no groove stone unturned. Smith’s Olde Bar (Sarig/Hutchinson)
