CRAIG DAVID — Multi-platinum British R&B crooner Craig David makes one of a handful of rare stateside appearance at a free show sponsored by 95.5 The Beat. David’s tracks “7 Days” and “Fill Me In” (from his debut, Born to Do It) have maintained popularity on American radio, helping introduce this side of the pond to U.K. garage (aka 2-step), a fusion of hard and soft, ragga ruffnecks and demure divas, ragged breakbeats and smooth R&B. David’s concert appearance, which takes place at 7 p.m., is free, open to the public and first come, first serve. Riviera (Ware)
DAVID RYAN HARRIS AND FRIENDS — The good looks of Lenny Kravitz, the vocal soul of Seal and echoes of Jimi Hendrix’s guitar command all converge in the stage persona of Atlanta’s own David Ryan Harris. More than merely a musician, he’s also an enduring inspiration and to many of the local scene’s brightest lights (many of whom rank among the “Friends” mentioned in this event’s billing). Doors open at 8 p.m. for this special early show. Smith’s Olde Bar (Nicoll)
