TUESDAY, OCT 30

DELTA MOON -- What better way to tune up for Hallow's Eve than with the sinewy duel slide guitar action of Tom Gray and Mark Johnson and the serpentine conjuring of vocalist Gina Leigh. Look for fully fermented electric versions of spooky ol' country blues tunes. Blind Willie's (Powell)

DANIEL JACOBS -- Schooled in both the jazz and classical disciplines, this warmly eccentric Massachusetts folkie is a wiz on guitar -- to the point where his intricate picking often overwhelms his still-evolving songwriting. He performs with Greg West and Matthew Ship. Eddie's Attic (Rowland)

HEY MERCEDES, NEW END ORIGINAL -- Hey Mercedes, featuring members of disbanded emo luminaries Braid, continue in the same vein -- melodically intertwined post-punk, but with even more pop pulse. New End Original also include emo vets (Texas is the Reason, Chamberlin) and alternate between bouncier pop-punk and down-tempo ballads. Cotton Club (Ware)

TANTRIC, BEAUTIFUL CREATURES, ACRES -- Tantric is composed of Days of the New, minus frontman Travis Meeks. New frontman Hugo Ferreira combines his growling vibrato with the band's acoustic intricacies for a slightly twangy sound. Teamed up with the screeching classic-rock of Beautiful Creatures, this show will be loud, if nothing else. Local band Acres won a battle of the bands recently and, as a reward, get to open. EarthLink Live (St. John)
