Vidalia Onion Festival

To air is human: Hands down, the star of the 35th annual Vidalia Onion Fest was the Straight Jacket monster truck! He smashed cop cars, caught massive air, and with each pass kicked up a dust storm that swallowed everyone in sight.

A Southern fried vegetarian delight (sort of). Take one Vidalia onion, splay it open, fry it to oblivion, and smother it in Ranch dressing. Dee-licious!

The view from the top: Riding the Ferris wheel overlooking the carnival at the 35th annual Vidalia Onion Festival in Vidalia Georgia. Tents, monster trucks, a civil war reenactment, and a battle of the bands, all spread out over an empty air strip at the Vidalia Regional Airport.

Candy Factory: Cotton candy, popcorn, sno cones, cold drinks, and baby strollers; it wouldn’t be a carnival without these things.

Lemonade: “This is the best dang lemonade you’re gonna find anywhere around here, I’ll tell you that!”

Smoothies: iced cappuccino!

Brother vs. brother: A Confederate soldier named Swilley surveys the battlefield after a particularly harrowing reenactment of a scene from the Civil War War of Northern Aggression. “We lost 20 men today …”
