See & Do - Visual art: Build a Popsicle Stick House February 04 2009

Tues., Feb. 10

At GSU’s first DIY Tuesday event, Paul Rodecker and Angus Galloway let loose dozens of students and artists in the Cage Space with no instructions and lots of string. Lots and lots of string. The pair considered the resulting massive network of tangles and lines an immersive “drawing” and dubbed it “Testing String Theory.” At the next DIY Tuesday, photographer Nancy Floyd invites participants to break out the Elmer’s and BUILD A POPSICLE STICK HOUSE with her on Tues., FEB. 10. Floyd, who most recently wowed with her solo exhibit of photographs of women and their guns at Solomon Projects, leads the exercise. DIY Tuesday is a part of GSU’s ongoing New Wave Atlanta project. Free. 1-4 p.m. Exhibit: Through Feb. 26. Free. Mon.-Fri., 10 a.m.-6 p.m.; Sat., noon-4 p.m. Welch School Gallery, 10 Peachtree Center Ave. 404-413-5221. www.gsu.edu/artgallery.
