Visual art: Fahamu Pecou

Fri., Sept. 19

Painter, performance artist and all-around media hound FAHAMU PECOU has a way of hopscotching across cultural boundaries that makes the distinction between, say, painting and fashion photography start to look pretty irrelevant. Pecou brings his usual disregard for borders to the Atlanta Contemporary Art Center Fri., SEPT. 19, with The 15 Project. Taking its cues from the Jay Lenos and David Lettermans of the world, The 15 Project will feature Pecou in the role of the amiable host of his own "late-night" style interview-format show. Special guests for this edition include artist and gallery director Lisa Alembik, writer Jelani Cobb and musician Anthony David. A mixer and DJ set follows. Cue applause. Free-$5. 7 p.m. 535 Means St. 404-688-1970. www.thecontemporary.org.
