In New Mexico-based artist JACK O'HEARN's trompe l'oeil paintings, flea-bag hotel rooms and other downtrodden surroundings get a boost with artwork. Hanging on grimy walls and tattered wallpaper, ornate gold frames offer windows into other worlds. But those other worlds tend to be similarly low-rent locales such as worn-out barrooms. O'Hearn's salutes to the lowbrow and the overlooked are on exhibit Thurs., JUNE 28, and through Aug. 4 at Nozoku Gallery, one of the latest additions to the Castleberry Hill art scene. Free. Thurs.-Sat., noon-6 p.m. 200 Walker St. 404-223-0576. www.nozokugallery.com.
