Visual art: Jerry Saltz

Tues., Sept. 16

JERRY SALTZ once asked an audience full of artists, "Do you know how f'ed up you all are?" One of the godfathers of contemporary art criticism, the New York wordsmith is stopping by Atlanta Contemporary Art Center Tues., SEPT. 16, presumably to pose such similarly nuanced queries, for Videos by Tamy Ben-Tor. Saltz spent years putting his stank on the review pages of the Village Voice and now makes his home at New York magazine. Saltz doesn't mind letting the air out of any number of art-world puff pastries. He's called Jackson Pollock "the least naturally talented artist that ever lived" and once called for a ban on painters using photographs as source material. So, artists, do you know how f'ed up you are? Come ask Jerry; I'm sure he'll let you know. 7 p.m. $5. 535 Means St. 404-688-1970. www.thecontemporary.org.
