Visual Art: RockShow

Sat., July 28

Atlanta boasts an exploding photography culture and a distinctive music scene. The two worlds collide in ROCKSHOW: ROCK 'N' ROLL PHOTOGRAPHY at Candler Park's Composition Gallery, on view weekends through Aug. 19, including Sat., JULY 28. The show spotlights three local photographers: veteran Frank Mullen ("Cat Power Live", pictured), whose work has appeared in the pages of Rolling Stone and Spin; filmmaker/still photographer Bobb Lovett; and the greener, recent Georgia State grad Alex Adan. The trio stalks such big-name personalities as Cat Power, Henry Rollins, the White Stripes and Iggy Pop, capturing all the attendant flying halos of sweat, rhythmically bobbing heads, naked torsos and hyperbolic sexuality. Free. Fri., 3-7 p.m.; Sat., 11 a.m.-7 p.m.; Sun., noon-6 p.m. 1388 McLendon Ave. 678-982-9764. www.compositiongallery.com.
