Tats, spikes, body mods and yards of black fabric are sure to be in evidence as goth figure painter and Pratt prof STEVEN ASSAEL makes his Atlanta-area debut Wed., AUG. 27, at Kennesaw State University's Sturgis Library Gallery. Assael is affiliated with the bicoastal art powerhouse Forum Gallery, and brings all that juicy Forum-style neorealism to the Kennesaw campus. Recently, Assael's oeuvre has turned to depictions of youth from fringe subcultures and includes models taken "from the street." Assael's solo exhibition is part of the visiting artist program sponsored by the KSU Department of Visual Arts. Through Oct. 9. Free. Opening reception Thurs., Aug. 28, 5 p.m.; Mon.-Thurs., 11 a.m.-3 p.m.; Wed.-Thurs., 7-9 p.m.; Sat., 1-4 p.m. 1000 Chastain Road, Kennesaw. 770-499-3223. www.kennesaw.edu/arts.
