Visual Arts: Ezio Todesco

Tues., Feb. 27

Ezio Todesco may not be breaking new ground with the idea of mannequin photography, but he has taken some of the most disturbing images of plastic models around. In TRANSITIONS: JORGE SANTOS, EMANUELA LUCACI, EZIO TODESCO on view at Naomi Silva Gallery today, Tues., FEB. 27, eerily perfect women offer stone-cold stare-downs and look like cover art for the creepiest Stepford Wives dime-store paperback. Surreal in the extreme, mannequins embody the unsettling Freudian notion of the "uncanny" -- something that appears animate but may not be. The Italian-born photographer's images of ersatz dames may make you never want to set foot in a department store again. Free. Tues.-Fri., 10 a.m.-5:30 p.m.; Sat., 11 a.m.-5:30 p.m. 75 Bennett St., suite M2. 404-350-8890.
