FILM

Don’t let anyone tell you apathy is the next generation’s legacy. The student filmmakers featured in the IMAGE Film & Video Center and Martin Luther King Jr. National Historic Site’s DREAM SERIES on SEPT. 21 are fired up and bringing some thoughtful, impassioned ideas. Atlanta-based filmmakers dominate the screening’s diverse program, which includes a doc on local graffiti artists; a revealing, sympathetic short on the DeKalb County drug court; and politically aware pieces on Georgia’s anti-immigrant Senate Bill 529 (right) and economic segregation in Atlanta. If this group of young filmmakers is any indication, the future is in good hands. Free. 6:45 p.m. MLK Jr. National Historic Site Screening Room, 450 Auburn Ave. 404-331-5190. www.imagefv.org.
