From the venue:
The Plaza Theatre hosts a rare screening of David Lynch’s Wild at Heart, a masterpiece of ’90s noir and a Lynch staple. Chock-full o’ references to The Wizard of Oz, Elvis, and one epic cameo by Minneapolis’ long-forgotten speed-metal mavericks Powermad, it’s also a rare glimpse at Nicolas Cage acting in a film that’s worth watching. Women’s Work, a local jazz-rock ensemble that’s been described as Lynch’s house band, performs a handful of Lynch-penned tunes as well as a few originals. Video Bean will project a montage of images culled from Lynch’s filmography, and there will be coffee and pie served in the lobby — Twin Peaks” style. Come in costumes! All proceeds go to help keep the Plaza Theatre’s doors open.”
