On every third Thursday for the past three months, ace minimal/progressive producer Habersham has organized Descent, a party for EDM lovers at the Mark Ultralounge. This month's edition -- set to happen tomorrow, Oct. 18 -- features Australian progressive house star Phil K, Habersham and his partner Numinous (aka Brett Abramson, owner of Propelrecords.com), Hungarian breaks DJ Fine Cut Bodies, and Atlanta musician Rob Dowell.
Dowell may be the least known of the five, but the party's actually for him. He's the first artist on Habersham's new label, Lobotomy Records, and has a new album, The Creative Itch. Set for release on Nov. 6, it features 10 tracks of dark and deep progressive goodness. Its dense, sinuous grooves might sound a little boring piping out of your computer speakers, but when it pounds out of the Mark's sound system it will make plenty of sense and make your body move.
