I Need That Record
The Athens PopFest is proud to present a very special addition to this years festival in the form of director Brendan Tollers documentary on the current fate, or possible escape from, of the independent record store. Featuring B.P. Helium (Of Montreal) and Patterson Hood (Drive-By Truckers) the film also features Thurston More (Sonic Youth), Ian Mackaye (Fugazi, Dischord Records, Minor Threat), activist and author Noam Chomsky, Mike Watt (the Minutemen), Lenny Kaye (The Patti Smith Group), Chris Frantz (Talking Heads, The Tom Tom Club), composer Glenn Branca, Pat Carney (Black Keys), punk author Legs McNeil, rock photographer Bob Gruen and many indie record stores from across the country.
Cine has instituted a special PopFest price of only $5.00 for these screenings.
